Dialogue: Relevant then and now.
We chose to begin the 2010 live series with this piece for a number of reasons.When Robert Lamm penned that classic conversational lyric between college students, he managed to encapsulate the tone of our country effectively and with soulful precision.
Though the years fly by, and new generations enter leadership positions, they too face the same old dilemma that never seems to go away.The more things change...well, you know the rest. At some levels, even deeper, more polarized, divisions exist today.
One could easily argue we've made slow progress, or even none at all. However you feel, we like to think about the beauty of Robert's talents and how he simultaneously conveyed such a memorable piece of music while also challenging us to think. Nice work.
Dialogue's relevance today STILL communicates in music, in spirit, in voice, a universal gift- that eternal resolve that though imperfect, we should forever keep working at it!
